MPQC , in consultation with industry, has developed and produced a film available on CD for ready-mix concrete truck drivers. The aim of the CD is to improve standards of safety service on both company premises, customer delivery sites and on public roads and highways by increasing drivers' awareness of safety issues and encouraging safe behaviour at all times.


This film has been produced for the benefit of all drivers hauling materials to contracting operations and domestic and private sites; it explains the requirements for the health and safety and well being of all and it highlights good practices that must be adopted to ensure maximum safety for everyone.


The CD can be used as a useful aid to training as it assists to increase drivers' awareness of safety issues and promotes safe behaviour at all times to achieve the required standards of safety.


The film presents a series of modules which address the most significant topics and issues which affect safety in workplace transport, including the following:

the vehicle, collection, pre-dispatch, en route and arrival on site, personal protective equipment (PPE), special operational requirements, discharge location, discharge, leaving site, private and domestic deliveries, maintenance and repair and drum maintenance and repair.
