Risk Assessment

Background to the Course

The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 require all employers and self-employed people to assess the risks to workers and any others who may be affected by their work or business.  This will enable them to identify the measures they need to take to comply with health and safety law.  Those who employ five or more employees should record the findings of a risk assessment.  Risk assessments are, therefore, a legal requirement and the essential foundation of a safety management system. There are special requirements relating to the employment of young persons, new and/or expectant mothers. A properly implemented programme of risk assessments can assist in the prevention of injuries, fatalities, property damage and other losses and make a real impact on the company bottom line.

Who Should Attend?

Managers, supervisors, team leaders, safety representatives, health and safety advisors and the self-employed, in fact, anyone whose jobs requires them to carry out risk assessments.
