Background to the course
‘Safety is everyone’s business,’ is a well worn cliché, but nevertheless it’s true. Managers and supervisors cannot maintain a safe workplace and improve safety performance on their own or with only the help of systems and equipment. The entire workforce needs to be committed. This course will help get them started. The course is aimed at operatives and will provide them with a basic in workplace health and safety issues and focuses on those areas where they can have an impact, including safety performance reduction of accidents and the building of a positive safety culture.
Who Should Attend?
Suitable for operatives, technicians and staff with little or no health and safety knowledge. This course can be customised to incorporate company-specific issues and priorities when run in–house.

Course Structure and Delivery Methods
A one-day course comprising short lectures, group discussion and a hazard spotting exercise. Course members receive the EPIC Certificate of Training.
